Overview

Statistics of the whole coaster database, not just your collection. Three tabs: Records, Industry and Timeline. Where a tile has a « Mine » column, it is the number of those coasters you have ridden.

TabRecords

World record holders, the priciest coasters and the parks with the most inversions.

Key indicators

  • Fastest / Tallest / Longest / Most Inversions: the current record holders
  • Biggest Drop: the largest drop on record (values above 140 m are treated as wiki errors)
  • Most Expensive: the priciest coaster, in the currency the wiki gives; ranked by euro equivalent at ECB rates

Tiles

World Record Holders: the most extreme coasters on Earth: fastest, tallest, longest, biggest drop, most inversions, longest ride and most expensive. Drop and ride duration come from CoasterPedia for about 1 coaster in 8 and 1 in 4. Each record with a year-by-year history has a ▶ Race button.

Most Expensive Coasters: the top 10 by construction cost, shown in the wiki's currency and ranked by euro equivalent. About 1 coaster in 10 has a known cost.

Top Parks by Inversions: the parks whose coasters add up to the most inversions.

TabIndustry

Manufacturers, launches, seating, models, types and restraints worldwide.

Key indicators

  • Manufacturers / Top Manufacturer: how many builders exist, and the one with the most coasters
  • Models: how many distinct models are known
  • Restraints / Coaster Types: how many kinds of restraint and how many types the wiki uses

Tiles

Manufacturer Distribution: which builders dominate the industry; its ▶ Race replays who had built the most coasters, year by year.

Coasters by Launch Type: launched coasters versus lift hills.

Coasters by Train Type: sit-down, inverted, flying, floorless… how riders sit.

Most Built Models: the models with the most copies worldwide (Boomerang, SLC, Wacky Worm…), the builder behind each, and how many of each you have ridden. About 2 coasters in 3 have a known model.

Coasters by Restraint: lap bars, over-the-shoulder restraints, vests… Only about 1 coaster in 7 has a known restraint, so shares are computed on those.

Coaster Types: the types the wiki files coasters under (kiddie, spinning, inverted, flying, wild mouse…). A coaster can carry several types, so shares do not add up to 100 %.

TabTimeline

Ages, heights, speeds, inversions and closures across the world list.

Key indicators

  • Total Coasters: the size of the database
  • Average Age: of the coasters with a known age (a coaster's age stops at its closing date)
  • Opened in / Closed in: this year's openings and dated closures
  • Avg Speed / Avg Height: typical values, for comparison with your own collection

Tiles

Coasters per Age: how old the world's coasters are. A closed coaster without a closing date has an unknown age and is left out.

Coasters by Height Type / by Speed / by Inversions: where the world's coasters cluster, with your own credits for comparison.

Closures per Year: how many coasters closed each year (bars) against how many opened (line), since 1990 or over all years, with a decade table (opened, closed, net). Only closures with a known date count.
