Adding a trip

Log a park visit and the rides you took; your credits follow.

Overview

A trip is one visit to one park on one date, with the number of times you rode each coaster. Everything else on the site (credits, insights, records, duels) is derived from your trips.

Step 1: find the park

  • Type its name in the search bar of the navigation, or browse Parks › All Parks / Park Maps.
  • A park missing from the database? Ask for it with « Request an addition » (Settings › My requests). The data comes from Coasterpedia.

Step 2: create the trip

  • On the park page, click + Add New Trip, pick the date and, if you like, write a note (your notes are gathered under Me › Favourites & notes).
  • Use the +/− buttons to count your rides on each coaster. Leave 0 for the ones you skipped.
  • Save. You can edit or delete a trip later from Trips › Trips (List).

What happens next

  • Credits: every coaster you rode for the first time becomes a credit, numbered in the order you rode them. A page lists the new ones right after you save.
  • Relocated coasters: a machine that moved between parks counts once, whichever incarnation you rode.
  • Legacy credits: coasters you rode before you started logging trips can be added without a trip, from Coasters › My Credits; they must predate any trip on that coaster.
  • Backup: Settings › Backup exports all your trips and credits to Excel, and imports them back.
